Cole builds relationships to facilitate Wild Dog conservation at scales ranging from local communities to NGOs operating across Africa. When reintroducing Wild Dogs, he incorporates activities that facilitate awareness, education, tourism, and local economic development. He works with reserve managers to coordinate reintroductions and ensure genetic diversity is maintained. To support collaborative conservation, he spearheads formal relationships with regional and international stakeholders. During his leadership, safe space for Wild Dogs has almost doubled in South Africa (surpassing one million hectares). In Gorongosa National Park alone, the Wild Dog population has increased from zero in 2017 to 94 in 2020.
