About This Project

Dode worked as a technical assistant in the implementation of the Biodiversity and Protected Area Management (BIOPAMA) programme, which aims to address threats to biodiversity in the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, while reducing poverty in communities in and around protected areas. In this framework, Dode facilitated the implementation of the IMET (Integrated Management Effectiveness Tools) in West and Central Africa. IMET was tested in 80 protected areas. Over 400 professionals and rangers from national administrations have benefited from the advanced training in IMET use. 800 other stakeholders (public, private sectors and communities) have been involved in the process.
